08.14.08 - This is not the usual ‘Charlie Dean Moment’ because unfortunately this is what he has done for his entire tenure in office.
While Dean has been in the Legislature, Florida’s schools have gone on a sharp decline. It has been under Dean’s watch that Florida schools have sunk to last in the nation. During his current tenure as Senator, Dean voted to cut $900 million from an already struggling public education system. Education is the foundation of a growing and prosperous economy. By voting to cut education Dean has voted to hurt not only Florida's children right now, but our economic vitality as well.
Even though Dean, and the Republican controlled legislature, are budgeting our children’s future away and the future of Florida away, there is hope. Suzan has the experience, vision, and leadership to bring our state back to the top where it belongs.
Suzan knows education is not just a line on the budget, but an investment in our future, and critical in attracting new companies with good paying jobs to Florida.
And now for another ‘Out of Touch, Out of Time Moment' brought to you by Charlie Dean!:
08.08.08
Dean has sent out a mailer that stated, "no one has worked harder -- or done more -- to attract good paying jobs...to our local economy." Well, the Franks Team has done the research and the real facts are that un-employment has increased by more than 31% in the thirteen counties which comprise District 3, while Dean has served his first year as State Senator. This data comes from the US Department of Labor Statistics (5/23/08).
Remember when Dean paid more than 6 times the amount he needed to purchase his name on the ballot? Well now he’s using the same fuzzy math to mislead voters into believing he brought jobs to the district, when in fact the un-employment rate has increased by over 31%! Dean seems to be using the same person who told him how to qualify for the ballot as he used to calculate the un-employment rate for our Senate District.
We deserve better than what Dean has to offer, which is grossly inaccurate and misleading information passed off as the truth. Jobs are not an issue that should be tossed around as a political football. Look around; do you think things are getting better under Dean and the Republican controlled Legislature? Chances are you don't. We need new people running the store! |
