Dear Editor,

Let’s put Florida in the forefront to Energy Independence.
The technology is already available, and Florida has the natural resources to do it!
We have solar, after all we are the sunshine state, we have wind, we are after all a peninsula, and we have the natural agricultural resources to create sustainable renewable energy, and do it we will.

Energy independence is paramount to our national security, and will create an abundance of benefits to our state, our nation and the world. Nations around the world look to the United States to be the first in everything. Energy Independence will create a bright future for our children and grandchildren. It will create new business, industry and an abundance of new jobs. It will free us from our dependence on foreign oil which is now over 60% of our oil consumption.
Just think, we will be able to tell the foreign oil barons, that we need their oil just about as much as we need their sand!

We are Americans, and we can do anything when we put our minds to it.
We are Floridians, we were able to put a man on the moon, we can certainly do this, and we will do this!

What we need now is the political will, and that takes the election of good, proven leadership, a leader that has the vision, tenacity, and the passion to make this happen in our great state of Florida. I am that person.

My vision for Florida is to be the first state in the nation to become energy independent. I want to accomplish this by representing you, not the big money foreign oil interests in the Florida State Senate. My challenge to you is to reach past partisan politics and join me and my candidacy to make this happen.

My name is Suzan Franks and I am running for State Senate in District 3, and I am running to unseat incumbent Charles Dean. For more information on my candidacy please contact my web site at www.SuzanFranks.com.

Respectfully submitted
